Quality control

Quality control via 3D scanning offers certain advantages over conventional measuring methods using 3D coordinate measuring machines.

Due to the large number of points that extend over the entire component, a complete evaluation of each point is possible.

This allows section analysis and profile or surface deviations to be freely determined at any possible position. A freely selectable color deviation from the deposited 3D model shows very quickly where there are manufactruing problems with shape or position deviations.

Visual 3D inspection reports are easy, understandable and interpretable for everyone.

Reverse Engineering

Reverse engineering is the process of creating a new 3D model from a real object. The point are precessed with the help of software via the point cloud generated by the scan and then transferred to a 3D CAD model.

It is “reverse” because the usual manufacturing flow starts with the 3D model and ends with the part. Here the 3D model is the objective.

Reverse engineering shows its strengths especially when the object contains complex shapes and structures, which are very time-consuming to create with suitable design software.

Rapid Prototyping

The rapid prototyping process is used to create a real physical model as quickly as possible in order to be able to evaluate design, geometry or function.
